Yesterday I watched Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason along with my friend. Somebody actually recommended this movie to me and although it's just a sequel of Bridget Jones's Diary which i didn't see, i still watched it bec. of 4 main reasons; (1) it was recommended by a friend who said it was good, (2) she said there was something there which reminded her of me (i was too curious to find that out), (3) i was, again, curious what the movie is all about. of course i have had an idea but bec. i failed to watch the first one, i said to myself that i gotta see this. i must. (4) the enchanting Renee Zellweger. she's got a face that could launch a thousand ships. i haven't seen her for so long. i heard after doing Chicago she had to gain weight for this sequel.
we enjoyed the movie. a lot. Bridget is one character i know a lot of women can relate to. of course every one has its own neuroses. Bridget is an all-for-romance singleton who finds the love of her life, Mark Darcy until a certain Rebecca (who happens to be a lesbian. hmm.. me love their kiss. :p) gets in the way. she's got insecurities and slapstick. she's temperamental. and she's human. just when Bridget thought that it's finally over between them, she had learned from her friends that he isn't actually just a messenger (Darcy is a human rights lawyer and had freed her after she got caught of possessing illegal drug owned by the man her bestfriend met.) Mark had always been holding back. and there was Daniel who's screwing her up. although i didn't feel any spark between Firth and Zellweger, of course Bridget ended up in Darcy's arms.
