Yay! Last Sept 20 (i think) my sister and i watched 13 Going On 30! The movie i’ve been longing to see bec. of Jennifer Garner (love her!). In the movie was a very different Garner, far from her characters we used to see. I was swept away by her charm and wit. I was actually convinced by her portrayal of a 13 year old Jenna in a 30 year old body. The plot isn’t something new but it’s not an ordinary teeny-bopper thingy. Jenna’s a typical 13 yr old girl who wished to be 30. Why 30? Bec. according to her fav POISE magazine, 30 is the best year of your life. Thirty and Flirty and Thriving. If you remember Tom Hank’s Big, this one is its female version.






My sister and i were drawn to Mark Ruffalo (the guy who played Matt, Jenna’s bestfriend).

The movie all in all was fab. and nostalgic at the same time. I like the choice of music, so 80’s. Retro na to! Hehehh.. Langya, si michael jackson kumikita pa!

You will die laughing all through out. But my eyes were almost drowned by tears on the scene where Jenna went back to their home. I especially love that scene. She asked her mom..

...if you could turn back time and will able to change one part in your life, what would it be?

Her Mom replied;

Nothing.

Because if i never made a mistake, i wouldn’t learn how to make it right...

Jenna realizes a lot of things. And she learned the hard way. She found out that one always has to remember where he rooted. And that you could never turn back time. Ever. (of course i’m talking with real life sitch). You know, life is not that easy as we had always thought it as a child. Looking back, i have lots of wonderful childhood experience which i know i can draw strength and inspiration to in facing the outside world. Just a thought: Why is that when you’re a kid, you always wish to grow up in a hurry. While when you’re already a grown-up, you might as well want to be a child again? Whew! So ironic... But anyway, that’s the way it is, right? We just have to take one step at a time. Live not for the future nor for the past but for today.
